​​The National Media Council (NMC) is committed to building partnerships with a wide range of media and non-media institutions to achieve its regulatory mission on both internal and external levels.
Categories of NMC partners include:

  1. National Media Institutions
    The NMC seeks to establish long-term relations with media institutions through its Advisory and Coordinating Boards to achieve their full engagement in policymaking and media-development processes.
  2. Regional and International Media Institutions
    The NMC boasts a robust network including international news agencies like Reuters, AP, UPI, AFP, and Inter-Press Service, in addition to news agencies in the Gulf region: Arab States Broadcasting Union, GCC Joint Programme Production Institution, and others.
  3. Media Free Zones
    These include Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority (TwoFour54); Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone (TECOM), Fujairah Media Group, and RAK Media Group. The NMC cooperates with free-zone entities to establish a professional media environment according to the highest international standards.
  4. Federal and Local Government Institutions
    The NMC cooperates with ministries and local government departments to create an integrated media environment meeting the best standards. These include the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), the UAE E-Government, Dubai Economic Development Department, and the UAE Journalists' Association.
  5. Universities and Training Institutes
    These include the UAE University, Zayed University, the University of Sharjah, the American University of Sharjah, the American University in Dubai, and the Tadreeb programme at TwoFour54.
